The Datooga People

One of the world's largest unreached people groups with a population of over 200,000. Less than 1% have ever heard the Gospel. Less than 1% are literate. There is no fresh water source for the people.

The only exception would be for the two months out of the entire year which make up the rainy season. The water that they can collect and store or that gathers on the ground has to make up their water supply for the rest of the year. Between 40-60 percent of the children die before the age of five from water born illness.

The only way they have to supplement this water supply is to send their women on a six-hour journey (one way) into the mountains with mules to haul water back to the people.

We have been raising funds for a large scale project in Gidamilanda, Tanzania... the place they call home.
