PROGRESS

If you are like me, you like when things happen fast. When you start something you want to finish quick (especially when there is a great need for what you are working on). Right now students from all different parts of the country contribute to a campaign we have entitled "The Water Bill Poject." People just like you have decided they want people to have clean water so bad that they are willing to sacrifice a few little luxuries each month to pay an African's water bill. So far we have collected thousands of dollars... and the exciting part is that we are getting ready to drill our first well! It tooks us months to raise these funds, but the awesome thing is that the people who get this water will be blessed by student's generousity for years to come. Keep in touch... I will keep you up to date on our progress.

Peace,

David

No one's looking...

The title of this particular blog is not necessarily chosen in reference to the seemingly small amount of people that read this AMAZING blog, rather I am speaking directly to the monthly water bills that so many college students and adults alike have decided to pay on a monthly basis. This last month one particular student from Central Bible College felt God move on his heart to be a part of the of the Water Bill Project. So, he got on the WorldServe website and gave Five Hundred dollars! I was absolutely blow away, because I know that for any student giving Five Hundred dollars is a sacrifice. But, the really cool thing about this guy is that he isn't looking for the praise that any person would give him, instead he quietly made his gift, to the children of East Africa, through the website when no was looking.

This is not just the story of one person, but rather the truth is that many college students, faculty members and community leaders have chosen to partner with the people of Africa while no one is looking. In fact since the launch of the Water Bill campaign in March of 2007 nearly $1600.00 has been given by individuals just like you. So, I challenge to give both passionately and intelligently... of your time to bring awareness or of your resources to bring life. You can learn about doing both of those things on our website

The Water Bill Project

The Water Bill Project is an initiative that was birthed out of a desire to the see the people of Africa get the clean water they desperately need. It is true that many organizations are doing something to raise awareness about the need for water in many third world countries, but The Water Bill Project isn't just about awareness; it is about influence. We decided that if we very going to spread the word about clean water and ask people to use their influence, we wanted to ask the most influential people we knew to get involved. So, we decided to ask university students. This spring The Water Bill Project visited two campuses of higher learning: Evangel University and CBC. At both schools we were overwhelmed by the responsiveness of students and their desire to get involved in bringing hope to Africa. Many students at both schools not only said they wanted to be kept informed but that they also would like to be a part of the drilling of water wells on a monthly basis by committing to pay an African's Water Bill. Our goal is to bring The Water Bill Project to as many schools as possible next year (Fall of 2007 and Spring of 2008). Please spread the word about the need for clean water in Africa and be a part of the solution by including your college or university campus in The Water Bill Project.
